Organic Chinese Motherwort, Sustainable Farm Grown Herb
Chinese Motherwort, Leonurus japonicus, "is a traditional medicinal herb with significant effects; dating back more than 1800 years, it is widely used in Asia. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is essential in the treatment of menstrual and delivery disorders caused by blood stasis, such as dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, and postpartum hemorrhage.... L. japonicus had good effects in promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and regulating menstruation."
Traditionally this herb was used dried or fresh, however, to treat severe conditions today, it is injected or taken in capsule form in Chinese medicine.
We are a small-scale producer of culinary and medicinal herbs. All herbs are grown on our certified organic farm in British Columbia and are hand harvested, dried, and packaged on site in a dedicated approved facility. Our products are picked at their peak and dried in small batches to retain shape and flavour.
Our farm also uses regenerative farming practices, such as using animals (goats, sheep, pigs) to maintain and prepare new beds. This ensures that not only are we organic, but no heavy machinery ever touches the soil, and we maintain a healthy soil ecosystem.
